Ohio state veterans' benefits
Ohio Veterans Homes
The Ohio Veterans Home Agency operates two facilities — one in Sandusky (about 60 miles west of Cleveland) and one in Georgetown (about 45 miles east of Cincinnati). The Georgetown home is a licensed nursing home providing standard care and special care (Alzheimer's/dementia). The Sandusky home offers standard and special nursing care, plus Veterans Hall (a domiciliary for independent living) and DOM+ for those requiring very limited supervised assistance.

Military Injury Relief Fund
Ohio grants money to individuals injured while in active service as a member of the U.S. armed forces while serving under Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. Effective August 21, 2008, MIRF is exempt from state taxation.

Ohio education benefits
Ohio War Orphans Scholarship
To be eligible, the child of an eligible person must: be at least 16 but not yet 21 at the time of application; meet Ohio residency requirements; and demonstrate financial need as determined by the Board.
